Utilization
Management
|
Provides URAC accredited clinical
review and pre-certification by registered nurses and physicians for inpatient
hospital admissions and outpatient services. UM includes review and approval
of initial length of stay, continued stay reviews, and discharge planning.
AMM reviews for medical appropriateness, request-setting, level of care
and quality care. The UM program is available on a 24 hour basis and can
be "wrapped around" an existing program for night, weekend and
holiday coverage. AMM currently meets the Department of Labor (DOL) standards
for ERISA self-funded groups for all emergent or urgent requests for pre-certification.

24 Hour Nurse HelpLine
|
| Experienced registered nurses
are available via an 800-toll free telephone number, 24-hours a day, 7 days
a week. Using advanced clinical criteria, this program provides health information
and education to patients and their families. Healthcare counseling and
telephone triage assess health status and provides immediate health information,
steering patients to the appropriate level of care, which may include self-care
instructions. Combined with network referral, this nurse triage process
assures the most effective patient cost management by avoiding over utilization
of unnecessary settings. |

Large
Case Management
|
| Personalized and designed to
reduce costs and improve quality of care for those patients that require
intensive interventions. Certified Nurse Case Managers work directly with
patients, families, physicians and claims payers in order to deliver cost-effective
quality care. AMM case managers will also negotiate discounts and provide
on-site case management when necessary. |

Prenatal
Risk Management Program
|
| Provides
expectant mothers with health education and ongoing support through pregnancy
and post delivery. AMM nurse case managers evaluate the mother's clinical
status and history to determine the level of risk factors that may indicate
pre-term births or need for more intensive case management services. |

Disability
Management
|
| AMM recognizes
that immediate case management intervention by AMM's Registered Nurses and
Physicians will facilitate return to work when clinically appropriate. AMM
will communicate directly with the employee, physician, work site contact
and claims payer to assure appropriate length of disability certification
and claims payment. AMM will also work with the treating physician to identify
potential partial return to work options and modifications. |
